We are only a month away from the TedTalk, and haven’t gathered the money yet. This is mainly due to our procrastination and indecisiveness on what to do. Recently, Mr Wayne, a middle school teacher at Berkeley, approached me to talk about the idea of having a “Berkeley Fun Run”, and we decided that instead of organizing several small events like we had planned previously, we’ll have a 5K run on May 8th at the Benjakitti park. This will have an entrance fee for everyone who’d like to join the run. We are aiming mainly for the Berkeley students, parents, and teachers. We have contacted the park already, and they have allowed us to use the park on this day. It will be announced for the first time publicly at school on Tuesday, April 5th to the whole school community. Since we are running out of time and are not sure whether the Fun Run will raise enough money, I will be talking with the executives of our student council after announcing it, proposing them to have food and snacks for sale at the park on the day of the run in order to gather more money. Also, Coach Mike and Mr Wayne would like to use this occasion make a cross country event with other international school. If this works out, we’d be able to spread the event in other international school communities, which would hopefully enable us to get more people - and more donations!
