Political Behavior

Unit Overview
This unit carries on from the unit on political attitudes to understand where political behaviors come from. To prepare for this we participated in reading and discussion and created presentations. Each presentation analyzed a current event to determine the causes and effects of a particular political behavior.

Personal Achievement
TThis unit I learned and understood what political attitudes are through different activities, such as creating a campaign for the liberal party of Canada, making a presentation about voting in Canada, and doing an activity where the class was divided into groups and each group had to provide the definition of a term used in this unit.

Enduring Understanding: How do political behaviors affect society?
Polictical behaviors are defined by a person's political views, ideology, and levels of political participation. These vary for each citizen. There are certain groups (same race/same age/same economic level/others) that tend to have similar political behavior. If a large group of people politically disagrees with another large group of people within a society, it leads to conflicts. If a large group of people disagree with the government and the way the country is being managed, it leads to conflicts. It is important, especially for the government, to take into consideration the political behavior of citizens in order to be able to please them politically.
