High School Music Wix Portfolio Q1

 

Unit Overview

This quarter we practiced a list of songs that included a variety of styles. We went from Britpop with “Wake up Boo” to ACDC’s “Back in Black” to Jonas Brothers, and many more. We practiced many songs, but our main focus at the end of the first quarter was to practice “Back in Black” and “Ghostbusters” for the Berkeley Halloween Carnival.

• How do you think you measure up against the rubric?

• What do you do well?

I practiced the song I was going to perform enough not to mess up when I perform them, and I think that if I had done otherwise I would have definitely messed up while performing.

• What needs further work?

I think it would be a lot better if I was able to recognize notes. For example, when we begin a new song, I need someone to show me where to put my fingers or what key or drum to play, because if they tell me “play G” or whatever letter I have no idea what that means.
