Project: Exponential Growth and Decay

 

My topic is population growth in Chile since 1820. Every 10 years (approximately) the amount of people in the country has been measured, and compared to the previous years. The growth of the population has been exponential, which means it increases faster and faster over the years.

To create this graph, I found data of the approximate Chilean population every 10-15 years since 1820 until 2000. Once I had that information, I came up with an exponential equation, where you put the year number in for the exponent, and when you solve it it will give you the amount of people there will be by that year (in millions).
