POLYNOMIALS

1)  How does what you learned connect to the real world?

Polynomials are used to describe curves of various types. People use them in the real world to graph curves. For example, people who design roller coaster can use polynomials to create and design the structure and the curves in their rides. Polynomial functions are also used in economics to do cost analyses. So, after learning this, we can understand many things better, that we thought that didn’t have to do with polynomials, like economy and roller coasters.

2)  How did you develop or grow as a student through this unit?

Before finishing this unit, I thought polynomials were just polynomials, I didn’t really know how useful they were. But now that we have finished it, I can relate polynomials with many situations that happen daily, probably because polynomials are related with graphs. So being able to relate polynomials with the things I go through, makes me have a better understanding of them.

3) As you look at the work you have completed throughout this unit, what are you strengths?

I don't think I have any strenghts in maths, but I enjoyed multiplying binomials, maybe that could be considered a strength. It was easy for me to do it, and I think it's kind of fun.

4)  As you look at the work you have completed throughout this unit, what do you think you could improve?

Maybe I could dedicate more time to practicing what I learned in class when I get to my house, this would make me understand the topics better, become faster at solving exercises, and not having any questions or doubts while working in class.
